I spotted a responsive design flaw

I just looked at the demo of this responsive theme as I am eagerly awaiting the responsive update to the fashion theme. In doing so, I have noticed a potential problem with the responsive design on portrait mode iphone in your demo, but I imagine the problem could potentially creep into other display modes as well... When you are looking at an individual product page the iphone (and ipad) does not appear to allow you to zoom the image by hovering over it (I presume because the iphone interprets hover differently - it thinks you are wanting to save a coy of the image?). However, on iphone/ipad, it appears that clicking on any of the thumbnails creates  a "popup" zoom window overlaying the main web page that displays a fixed size zoom of the thumbnail image (rather than replacing the main image as in in other non-ipad/iphone modes). However, this windowed zoom image is typically "cropped" showing just the centre portion of the window/image and consequently the "close" button which is in the lower right hand corner of the zoom window may be totally off-screen and so you cannot see any apparent way to close down the zoom window. I would suggest it may be better to centre the "close" button within the window or at least use a placement mechanism to ensure it is within the visible portion of the window. After quite a while I eventually realised (by testing on a real iphone) that you can use the "previous page" navigation button to effectively remove the popup window, but this was not at all obvious to me and I don't image iphone web browsers will be at all interested in such a puzzle. On your website iphone emulation you can press the Esc key but this doesn't exist on the real thing!

Hi David,

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. Actually on mobile devices the default slimbox zoom from nopCommerce is used which has this feature to open the thumbnail in a separate window and by clicking on the "previous page" button the product page is loaded back. This is the default behavior. On our demo this was not done this way, so we have fixed it and again by clicking the back button the product page is loaded. We will think about showing a popup with a close button that is more visible, but it is not very recommended to have popups on mobile devices, escpecially smaller ones.

Please feel free to give us any feedback and suggestions regarding our products. It is highly appreciated.

Best Regards!
