Just to close this thread. I think my behavior may be browse issue. I am using windows 7 home premium with IE 10.
Here's the behavior:
I add a group and save. The group is not seen. But I re-enter the admin module from another domain name, and I see the newly added group(s). I then go back to the original admin module instance and again(with the other admin instance open), cannot see the newly added group. I click the browser refresh and then the newly added group appears.
It's very bizarre, no amount for refreshing or cache clearing in admin module will render the newly added group until I re-enter from another domain name, and then go back to the domain in which the group was added to refresh that instance. And I just entered 2 ribbons each with 8 groups.
Note: I've been working these ribbons off my production environment since these are last minute tweaks before we go live.
Anyhow, it all works great, just some strange behavior from my environment.
thanks,
jeff
That's what I did. But I really see what you mean. I have a good long 1 to 2 second delay before the ribbons paint. I Think I may need to create a "Seasonal" category and include all seasonal items with the "seasonal" category. The site is not coming up live for a couple more days so I won't bother posting a link.
But www.silkflowerbarn.com uses a freeshipping category and every item is in that category. After the products load a quick blink and the ribbons are painted. Acceptable in my eyes.
I think I should apply this to the seasonal items as well. After I do, I will let you all know the results.
Thanks,
jeff
I have a site that has duplicate products across two stores. Each store has Holiday categories.
Christmas, Easter, Mothers Day ..... and so on 7 holidays.
I am putting "Out of Stock Seasonal Item" ribbons for all these categories.
So my question is = Is it better to have a ribbon for each holiday or can I have 14 groups(one holiday for each store) each with two conditions = Out of Stock = 0 And Category = "The Specific Holiday Category". I have a standard "Out of Stock" ribbon with priority 0 for all other non seasonal categories.
I ask this question in the spirit of performance, if you happen to know if one method would be better or not. My gut is telling me to break them up by store since the plugin wants to filter by store naturally. And have 7 holiday groups for each store.
Thanks!

Looks like it was hung. I cleared cache and everything yesterday today when I got back to it the conditions were there. What I am finding is if I have two or more stores open I need to enter admin via the store where the condition was NOT set to see the condition in the admin module, that was saved in the other instance. But I can see the ribbon results for stores which the condition was set for. It's a cache memory thing.
I noticed that the values under type category for the conditions are not store agnostic in the admin module. I have to enter the admin module from the store where the category is published or I cannot see the values for type category in the value dropdown.
limited to stores is not checked, but when I check all stores it still filters for the store in which the admin module was accessed through.
Not sure if that's the intended behavior, but it actually works in my favor since I have so many categories and subcategories. Just had me scratching my head for a bit wondering where the categories went.
I am trying to add a new ribbon for out of stock items. When I save the condition record for type: Quantity - EqualTo - 0.00. The record will not save. It just disappears. Cannot figure what I'm missing.
Thanks,
jeff
In the interim maybe try to add a new category for FreeShipping. Add your free shipped products to the FreeShipping Category. Set ribbon condition on the FreeShipping category. A little extra work, but you get the ribbons.
I have a whole store with free shipped items so I condition for the category. Works great. www.silkflowerbarn.com

Thanks for the quick fix. Initially I did not load the core plugin when I loaded the new anywhere sliders dir. It is all filtering and working fantastically now!
Thanks again!
jeff
Fixed the Carousel2D to filter by store, but the fix hijacked the JCarousel. Now JCarousel just shows as a liner Vertical list below the Carousel2D. I also installed the JCarousel plug directory, just to see if would fix. I will e-mail you a print screen.
Thanks,
jeff
I cannot get the 2D carousel to filter by store in multi-store configuration. Everything else switches on and off per store checked. Just this one is giving me trouble. Cannot figure what I'm doing wrong. I've switched to a banner in the homepagetext Topic for now. But I like the Carousel2D because the Topic automatically puts a <p> around my image html and has twice the white space above and below, and even that small real estate is critical.
Thanks,
jeff
Thanks I changed to 3px anything less than 2px is too tight.
Sorry about the e-mail and post. After I sent the e-mail, I realized I should be posting here for all to benefit.
Much Thanks,
jeff
