When i add a new category in the admin and un-check "Include in top menu:" it still shows up on the top mega menu

When i add a new category in the admin and un-check "Include in top menu:" it still shows up on the top mega menu

how can i get the hover color of the nav links to remain the same when the mouse goes into the dropdown box?
