Hello Everyone...

I'm finding the same issue with a NopCommerce 2.6 installation. The page renders fine with IE, Chrome and Safari. However, the issue is apparent with Firefox 14.0.1.

If you would like to see what we are experiencing you can view the following page:
http://nemesisusa.com/c/2/calculators (remember to use Firefox 14.0.1)

I'm actually getting the same issue with another site under development using Nop 2.6. Both of these were implemented manually (not with automated integration or widgets).

I've verified that the css files are current. Not sure what else to check...

Thanks for your help on this.

Jose

Hi Jose,

Yes, you are right that your page doesn't look right in Firefox 14.0.1 but I can't understand how this relates to Nop Ajax Filters.
Could you remove the manual integration of the Filters and see if the problem is still present?
On our demo web site if you select the nopClassic theme from the theme dropdown and open a category page with Firefox 14.0.1 you will see that there is no problem with the page:
http://demos.nop-templates.com/c/4/notebooks

Please note that the page also uses the Filters. That's why we think that maybe you have made some changes to the styles that break your page.
Please let us know if the problem disappears if you remove the Filters.

Hi LAM,

Thank you for the detailed explanation.
What you want is not possible with the Categories Header Menu.
What you want is more like a Mega Drop Down Menu and the good news is that we are currently working on creating a Mega Menu plugin for nopCommerce, which we plan to release in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

Could you please elaborate more on the menu?
What is Collection in your example? Also would you like to have pictures for any of the categories and products? We plan to have two different templates\layouts - one just like in your sample picture and one with images for the categories.

Thanks

Thanks for your quick answer.
I am very excited about the new release then... now, I am not sure I will be able to "wait" (make the client wait) few weeks...

Either way, I think it would be a great feature to have in the future.

Regarding this particular "requirement": The actual categories are really underneath "Shop". Collection is one of the Top Categories, and all the links below it would Sub-categories of collection. The same goes for "Category(title)" and "Best Seller". All other links have nothing to do with categories: Home, About, Contact, etc...

For this particular project I do not need images for the categories, but I guess it could be a nice feature to have if we were able to turn it on/off (as per project).

What I find important would be to select (pick and choose) what categories/sub-categories to show on the mega menu. I guess for large catalogs, with lots of categories/sub-categories would end up to be messy to show all/none.

Also, may I ask you:
1- Will Mega-Menu be based also in CSS/jQuery?
2- For the current version you based it on the Superfish plugin. What are you using as base for the Mega-Menu? I guess it could help me solve until the new version is available.

Thanks a lot for all your support! Very much appreciated!

Take care.

LAM.

Hi LAM,

Thank you for the feedback it is appreciated.
We are trying to make the Mega Menu with pure CSS only for now. If a lot of customers want to have some nice effects then we can add JQuery at some point.

Many thanks

Hi support,

I would like to create a sitemap for the footer of the webshop, that shows the top level categories of the webshop dynamically.

Much like this site (scroll to the bottom):

http://www.techsmith.com/

Then I thought, hey the categories header menu can access my categories for the websop.

Problem is that I already have the header menu set up to a specific layout for the header. The CategoriesHeaderMenu.cshtml is in use for the header layout.

So my question is, would I be able to load another instance of the plugin for the footer using a different layout page that fits with the footer layout?
Can I for example copy and paste "CategoriesHeaderMenu.cshtm", and rename it "CategoriesFooterMenu.cshtml" and use that instead for the footer?

Thanks in advance

Hi Jon,

What you won't to do will not be possible as the Header Menu has its own Controller and Action that builds the model and returns the specific view. You actually need only the top level categories, which you can try to get directly from the CategoryService in your view, which is not a good practice but will do the job :)

Hi There!

THanks so much for your reply - you guys do a great job! I am sorry for my late response. I guess in theory your answer seems simple enough to achieve, but I just couldn't get it to work at all. I played with it for a while. Were you able to get something close? I couldn't even see the numbers no matter what I did. If you get get something close, please post and I'll pursue it from there.

Thanks again for your help.

Best regards,

RJM

Hmm. Are you saying the when you remove the text-indent property it doesn't show the numbers? That is strange as if you open our demo site in Chrome and remove the text-indent the numbers 1 2 .. are shown.

Thanks a lot.
I will be waiting for it.
Can you please also tell me if we can customize it to vartical menu and replace the current menu.

Hi,

You can try to play with the css of the menu and make it vertical.
There was a guy that did this and posted the code in the nopCommerce forum but I can't find the post. So it should be possible if you are good with css.

Many thanks

I am unable to find the download link for nop-categories-header-menu for nop commerce version 2.3 please help me with a link.

I had found a zip file but that includes plugins for versions 2.4, 2.5 & 2.6  but not for 2.3

We just uploaded the Nop Categories Header Menu for nopCommerce 2.3 and 2.2 on the nopCommerce web site. It should be available shortly after Andrei approve it and you will be able to download it from there.
Here is a link to all extensions available fro nopCommerce 2.3 and it should be listed there probably in a few hours.

Hi castironcook,

The text prompt / name was missing from the dropdown types of attributes only. This was made by design, but now it has been removed and default text prompt / name is shown. In order to integrate the fix just download the latest package from your My Account section and replace the ~/Themes/Fashion/Views/Catalog/_ProductAttributes.cshtml view with the one from the package.

Hope that helps!

Hi Rajiv,

We have sent you instructions via email. Please let us know whether the problem still exists!

Thanks!

Hi Frank,

You were right. The issue has been fixed and uploaded on our website. Can you please go to your My Account section and download the latest package. Then copy the ~/Themes/ShopAll/Views/Shared/_ColumnsThree.cshtml file to your ~/Themes/ShopAll/Views/Shared folder of your website.

Best Regards!
