What's new in our products for nopCommerce 3.4

This is a summary of the new features and improvements added to our plugins + all new plugins and themes released for the last 7 months. For convinience we have added the version number to each feature, so that you can see if your version includes it or not. We have described only features added after version 9558, which is the version in our last nopCommerce 3.21 release note.

NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS:

Ajax Cart

Show the selected attributes of the product that has just been added to the cart. /10239
Related products support - Added a setting if related products should be shown in the popup that informs when a product has been added to the cart. Very useful feature that can increase sales. /10969
Cross-sell products support - Added a setting if cross-sell products should be shown in the popup that informs when a product has been added to the cart. Very useful feature that can increase sales. /10969
Added two new setting to specify the number of Related and Cross-sell products to show. /10981
Mobile device improvement - Do not load and execute any javascript and css on mobile devices as the plugin is disabled on mobile devices (we don't consider popups as a good UX on mobile devices). /11328
Wrapped each error message in a <li> tag within a <ul> tag for easier styling. /11924

Ajax Filters

New setting added for ignoring the filters on certain categories. /9716
Show only visible individually parent products. /10151

Fixed a problem with Safari encoding the hash query by default when the url is directly pasted in the browser. This also fixes the back button not working properly in Chrome. /11485
Added app setting aspnet:MaxJsonDeserializerMembers in the Web.config for fixing the "JSON too large" problem. This setting is added automatically if it is missing in the Web.config, so that you don't need to add it manually when you have too many filtering options and you strart receiving the "JSON too large" error. Requires write permissions to the Web.config otherwise you still need to add this setting manually (optional). /11566
Fix - problem with default page size and allow customers to select page size option. /11570
On Sale filter option added for nopCommerce 3.4 only. The On Sale filter allows your customers to find only the products that are discounted (old/new price). You can see the On Sale filter here. /12244

Pass the totalCount parameter to the nopAjaxFiltersFiltrationCompleteEvent event. This way you can know the number of products after each filtration. /12684

Anywhere Sliders

Categories and Manufacturers in the administration are now store agnostic. /9655

Scheduling support added. You can chose a Start/End date in which the Slider will be visible + Scheduling pattern i.e Everyday, Every Monday etc. /10748, nop 3.3

Override customer conditions support added. You can include/exclude specific customers for which the Slider will be visible (regardless the Conditions). /10748, nop 3.3

Always add alt attribute to the slider images (even if no explicit alt is set from the administration). /12723

Customer Reminders

Fixed a problem with AbondonedShoppingCartReminder causing sending several emails. /9643
When there are no product pictures it will take the parent product's picture for the ProductsWithPictures token in the AbondonedShoppingCartReminder message template. /11846
Extracted the ProductsWithPictures token into a template as a public view, so that it can be edited. /12571

Instant Search

Added back the missing setting - Search in Descriptions .
Pass the currently selected category to the search page (when the search button is clicked). /11466

JCarousel

The categories and manufacturers shown in the administration are now store agnostic. The administrator now see all the categories and manufacturers available regardless of the store mappings. /9655
Now we add css class "manufacturers" to carousels that show manufacturers. This way you can set specific styling to all carousels that rotate manufacturers. /9771

Mega Menu

Use the nopCommerce setting - number of vendors to display, when showing the list of vendors. If set to 0 then we do not show the vendor menu at all. /10739

Do not show topic's content on mobile devices but only a link to the topic. /11065

Removed the old setting Show Only Home Page Top Level Categories. Now we use the Include In Top Menu nopCommerce category setting. This way you can control which category to be shown in the menu. /11492

Quick Tabs

Added new general tab - Contact Us. /9951
Added additional information to the email sent from the Contact Us tab - product name, product sku, product part number.
Major improvements made for nopCommerce 3.30 - added mappings and conditions. Now a custom tab can be shared between multiple products based on powerful conditions i.e all products in a given category etc. A custom tab can also be shared only between a specific set of products that need to be set explicitly. /11576
Now you can create or add existing tabs to a given product directly from the Edit Product page in the administration. /11576, nop 3.3
Added "custom-tab" css class to custom tabs that are not added via Ajax. /11576

Ribbons

Added product specifications condition type for the Ribbons in nopCommerce 3.4. This way you can show ribbons to all products that have a given specification i.e show some FullHD visual to all products that have Screen Type specification set to Full HD.

Quick View

Added a new setting for the selector of the quick view button's parent element. Allow much more fexibility for positioning and styling the quick view button. /10144
